Welcome to Mapmaker v5.00 for Windows 95! Leaving this tip box on will help you learn some of the smaller features of Mapmaker. To see the first tip, click the next button.
Mapmaker 5.0 supports an unlimited number of parallax layers. These parallax layers may also be used as "scratch paper" when designing your levels. To set up a parallax layer, go to the parallax tab and click the add button.
You can quickly zoom in and out by dragging the slide-bar on the bottom-left of the screen.
You can access many common functions by right-clicking anywhere in the main screen.
You can bring up the tile properties window by double-clicking on any tile within the tile palette.
You can print your levels in full color - to do so, check out the "Print" and "Print Options" commands.
You can delete multiple objects at once by selecting them with the selection tool and then deleting them. This works for marks, comments, and sketches.
Brushes are a powerful mapmaker tool. Create a brush by going to the brush tab and clicking add.
Stamps are another powerful mapmaker tool. To create a stamp, select an area of the map, then go to the stamps tab and click add.
You can open several maps at once. To switch between maps, use the Window pulldown menu.
